Though there are plenty of incredible places to grab a bite, here’s how to eat like a true local during your time in Saugatuck.

It is a consensus among Saugatuck locals that Uncommon Coffee Roasters serves some of the best coffee in town. With their friendly staff, warm and welcoming atmosphere, and delicious coffee, Uncommon Coffee Roasters is the perfect place to start your day or while away an afternoon with a good book or good conversation. Uncommon brews their own coffee and their expert baristas will whip you up crazy good lattes, espressos, mochas, and more. If you’re hungry, they also serve incredible baked goods made with all-local ingredients as well as food items like frittatas, parfaits, and breakfast sandwiches, often made with herbs from their garden.

Wicks Park & Grille

The slogan at Wicks Park & Grille is “where good friends gather.” This popular park-side restaurant manages to be both stylish and welcoming, laid-back and lively. Their outdoor seating area is one of the best in town, with great views of the water. Their menu has pretty much everything, including fresh lake perch, homemade burgers, fish tacos, vegetable pasta, New Orleans-style Gumbo, sandwiches, salads and so much more. Come for Happy Hour for some great deals on their cocktails, beer, and wine. Wicks Park & Grille also happens to be one of the best places in Michigan to see live music.

 

Phil’s Bar & Grill

Phil’s Bar & Grille is a popular local hang-out with something on the menu for everybody. Whether you are in the mood for fish tacos, a burger and fries, or Pad Thai, you’ll find something to satisfy your appetite at Phil’s. That’s why we have been recommending it to our guests for years. With its lively, welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff, Phil’s is the perfect place to go if you want a true taste of Saugatuck.

 

Marro’s Italian Restaurant

Marro’s Italian Restaurant is one of the best places in town for simple, family-style Italian cuisine. Marro’s is best known for their award-winning pizzas, with the option to build your own from scratch, but they also serve a variety of lasagna, pasta, meat, and vegetable dishes. And don’t skip out on dessert. At Marro’s, you’ll find mouth-watering cannoli’s, cheesecake, and tiramisu. Like many restaurants in town, Marro’s is a great place to go if you like to see stellar live piano music while you eat.

 

Grow

Grow is another restaurant specializing in healthy, locally-sourced cuisine that is both delicious and sustainable. This upscale breakfast and lunch spot is located across the street from Coughlin Park. Alec and Lindsay serve delicious skillets, sandwiches, salads, and savory items like carrot cake pancakes or blueberry and lemon french toast. You can also come for “breakfast for dinner,” where all menu items will still be available after 5 PM. Grow also has an incredible cocktail and mimosa menu if you want to turn your brunch into a boozy one.
